The group exhibition titled VOLUNTEER NEW WAVE 2 is based on the performance programs of the Art High School in Sfântu Gheorghe and on works created by its students between 1992 and 1999, both within the school and in the public spaces of the city. The materials originate from a digitized selection from the archive of the ETNA Foundation, as well as from the personal archives of the artists.
We are now opening the second chapter of the exhibition, dedicated to the first five generations of the Art High School. Through a unique overview, the exhibition traces their professional trajectories as artists and cultural organizers, from the 1990s—when they contributed as volunteers to the organization of the AnnART performance festivals—up to the present, highlighting their connections to the catalytic spirit of artistic experimentation in which they were formed.
The exhibition also features a selection from the AnnART Archive, including documentation of actions by Monty Cantsin, Roi Vaara, Juhász R. József, Irma Optimist, Seiji Shimoda, Hong O-Bong, Ütő Gusztáv, and Kónya Réka, alongside works by Dénes Miklósi inspired by mail art.
The event is part of 33th Saint George Day’s.
