Organized in collaboration with the House of Arts Veszprém, and in connection with the group exhibition Doomsday (b)rain check – radical crisis management, realized simultaneously in two venues, the MAGMA Contemporary Art Space presents its activities within MINIFEST, part of the Veszprém–Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture program.

Add Yourself / portrait-making across different eras, workshops. One focus of the workshop is portrait photography, inspired by 17th-century Dutch portrait painting as well as the portrait series of contemporary Dutch photographer Hendrik Kerstens. Another point of reference is the iconic portraits of Andy Warhol, serving as a basis for creating portraits of participants in a similar style using collage techniques.

Processes and stochastic changes. Is randomness variable or constant? Can I be random, or am I always guided by some organizing principle? If I program the machine to be random, it becomes less of a tool and more of a partner.
